Room 206, Tuesday Afternoon

She mightn't have had as bad a time of it was some, but that didn't mean Isabela was particularly happy about the weekend. Her favourite methods of not dealing with things involved sex, drink and dirty books, and she didn't have the first two handy, so she was stretched out along the bed with a pen and a notebook.

...Still half entangled in the fishing net, the man tried to stand, wet, torn clothes clinging to his form and outlining a muscular physique.

"Well, it's not dinner," the Captain declared, her voice booming across the deck. "But this is certainly the catch of the day."

A tap came on her door. Anders wasn't having as hard a time with the amnesia as his friends, but that wasn't exactly a low bar to clear. Especially not when he was still recovering from the jaunt back to Thedas; everything else was going to be a glancing blow until he processed that.

Still, it wasn't good for him to spend too much time alone. And Isabela struck him as an excellent distraction.

"Hello there," he said from the doorway. "Working on anything important, or can I bother you?"

Isabela did have a talent for distraction, it was handy for lining one's pockets for one thing.

She put her pen down and looked over at him. "It's nothing that won't keep."

"Good," Anders said, with a funny little smile as he stepped through the door. "I don't have anything to say that won't keep either, I just don't feel like going back to my hut."

"They weren't exactly the cosiest of dwellings," Isabela remarked dryly.

Or the most private.

"Not so much," Anders said, shaking his head. "It's funny, they just had me with Dante, but somehow it was different living with him without a real roof. Or real walls."

[OOC: So I missed that we moved back to the dorms. GO ME.]

"They put me with Merrill," Isabella said. "I almost would have preferred actual tents."

You knew where you stood with tents. Figuratively, depending on the size of the tent.

"Because of Merrill, or just in general?" Anders asked. "Though I think I would have, too. It's hard to feel comfortable with all that glass and stars around."

"Just in general," Isabela replied. "Merrill's sweet, one of a handful of people I'd like to be stuck in a weird glass ball where the sun never rises with." And probably the only one where 'because of the opportunity for sex' wasn't a factor.

"Now there's a short list I never thought I'd have to make before I got here," Anders commented. "Along with Best People to Wake Up Amnesiac With."

"It's certainly one way to broaden your horizons," Isabela said. "Though maybe some of them should've stayed narrow."

"I'm just glad I didn't embarrass myself too badly," Anders said.

Mainly because he'd spent most of the weekend in his bunk, too confused to try anything else.

"And I'm surprised you're the one advocating for narrow borders. I thought you were all about new experiences."

Isabela had slept most if it, that was what happened when you relied on the sun rising rather than a clock and there was no sun.

"I do like new experiences," Isabela said. "I just like been able to choose to have them even more."

"There is that," Anders said with a sigh. "Have you been here for one of the weekends when we're completely different people yet? I got to be crown prince of France that way once, and a lounge singer another time."

"I was some kind of space captain, though I only seemed to have one crew-member." Which admittedly was one more than she currently had. "Spent most of it looking for him."

Maybe she'd run into this not-her one day, Isabela had had a vague impression she was someone she'd like to know.

"Space captain," Anders repeated, amused. "Well, that's at least half-right. Pity you didn't have a crew."

"I think her ship could think and talk as well," Isabela said. "At least I remember her remembering it could, it wasn't actually here."
