Having abandoned a sizable haul of baggage in Atton's class, Isabela was doing a simply marvellous job of pretending she was having a perfectly normal day. The bags and chests and trunks that were emblazoned with things like 'viddathari', 'some gold and a goat', 'a pretty doll on a shelf', or 'the fucking Qun' had absolutely nothing to do with her, and clearly they all belonged to someone else.

She'd never thought she'd regret learning to read.

Dante stuck his head in through the door sometime into the afternoon, chased by luggage he was at this point equal parts trying to ignore and destroy.

"Isabela," he called. "You wanna get off this island?"

Days like this, you didn't need lead-up.

Isabela was on her feet in a flash. "You had me at get off, sweet thing."

Shut up 'refuses to acknowledge emotional issues' and 'deflects with puns'.

Dante had copes with shitty life through thrillseeking sitting around just around the corner, but he wasn't paying attention to that, either. "I know some good clubs in Baltimore," he said. "Grab something skimpy."

Which would be Isabela's entire wardrobe. Surprisingly enough, there wasn't any baggage about that. Well, no current ones.

"The kind of clubs where you already have friends, or will we have to make our own?" No baggage there either.

Not actually used to having friends materialized in the hallway behind Dante. "There's at least one where I know the staff," Dante said, leaning against the doorframe. "They're pretty hot."

In a few years 'avoids sleeping with actual friends in case another gets the wrong idea' would join it, but for now, that particular baggage remained on its lonesome.

"I think I'll have to judge this for myself." Plus him knowing them would make not having to pay for drinks easier.

"Judge as much as you like," Dante said, grinning. "Let's just get away from all the fucking luggage."

The pun had gotten old.

"If it was fucking luggage we might actually enjoy it," Isabela said dryly, coming over to join him.

It didn't matter that the second copy of 'deflects with puns' was underlined, she was still going to ignore it, thank you.

Dante did not have matching luggage. He just liked puns.

He slid his arm around her waist because why the fuck not, though (Uses sex as a coping mechanism did show up after that one.) "Good point," he sighed. "Or at least it'd be fucking funny."

Isabela liked them too, they were multi-purpose.

"Funnier than these," Isabela said, companionably sliding her own arm around his waist then grinning up at him. "I'm in your hands. Lead on, sweet thing."

"No," said Dante, and moved his hand to her ass. "Now you're in my hands."

He winked at her, and then went for the stairs, leaving a whole trail of baggage behind him.

"My mistake," Isabela said as they headed down the stairs, as if that had been a totally unexpected response on his part and not at all one she'd been hoping for.

And if the baggage had anything to say about that, she wasn't paying attention.

"It happens," Dante said merrily. "Hey, how do you feel about motorcycles?"

"Like I don't know what one is." Though she'd likely approve once she did.

Dante didn't quite feel the way about motorcycles that Isabela did about boats, but it came close. "Then it's your lucky day," he said. "I got one. It goes fast."

Because he may or may not have stolen a racing model from a chop shop.

Isabela approved of stealing fast things from people who didn't properly appreciate them.

"Colour me intrigued."

"You might have to hold on tight, though."

This would surely be terrible for Isabela. Terrible.

She didn't know how she'd cope.

"I don't know how this thing is going to measure up to what I'm picturing in my head."

Vibrations, Isabela, vibrations. Puns about hard, throbbing objects between your legs for days.

Yeah, Dante smirked a little. (Okay, a lot.)

"You know where the parking lot is?" he said, stepping out of the dorms.

Oh, Isabela liked that smirk. It usually meant good times ahead.

"Near the causeway, isn't it?" Isabela said. "You can see it from the docks."

"And that's where I keep the motorcycle," he said. "Better than all of those boring cars and shit."

Ezra would probably scowl at you over that comment, Dante.

She nodded. "Better than the cars, got it."

Don't let Isabela know about any potential scowling, she'd probably write a story were the two of you worked it out by fucking on a car bonnet then encourage you to act it out. On second thought, do let Isabela know.

Probably wouldn't be that hard to convince them, just as long as the car wasn't Ezra's.

The trip down to the parking lot wasn't long, and Dante's motorcycle? Kind of stood out. Vividly. "There she is," he said, pointing as soon as the reds came in view.

Eh, there were plenty of other cars in the lot, she'd just pick one of them.

"Oh my." Isabela mightn't know anything about motorbikes, but some things just spoke to a girl. "You do have good taste in lady companions."

Dante grinned at her. "I like to think that I do," he said merrily.

And Isabela hadn't even met Ebony and Ivory yet.

He threw her another wink, then let go. He had important stuff to do, like getting to the motorcycle.
